Dozens of Al-Shabaab operatives, affiliated with Al-Qaeda in Somalia, have arrived in the provinces of Hodeidah and Abyan (western and central Yemen), as part of a joint coordination operation between the organization's leadership and the Houthi rebels. Intelligence sources told Khabar Agency.

The Houthis brought in these elements affiliated with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda from Somalia, where they arrived in separate batches in recent days to both the province of Hodeidah, which is under their control, and the province of Abyan, which is under the internationally recognized Yemeni government's control. The sources said.

Al-Qaeda leaders in Abyan, which is witnessing significant activity by the organization, were responsible for smuggling these operatives to Houthi-controlled areas.
